If you have to chose between being mortal or goddess, what would you chose?
I am not sure…. I think I would chose mortal, just so I live the day like my last one …It is so easy to say but so hard to do…and what about you?
Countess Ablaze new collection, The Odyssey Trail, the colours are, as usual, outstanding. When I saw “but are you mortal or goddess” in DK, my little crush on pink was singing to my ears buy my please buy me! I know that the yarns from this collection will never be repeated. So I had to buy it, right? so I did :) and I had a perfect pattern on my queue on Ravelry. It was made for the yarn or the yarn for it. The perfect relationship.
Hello everyone ! It has been a long time, life caught me and squeezed me hard, I recovered and now here I am. today, I want to present you a new, noteworthy, talented knitter who I encounter on the famous ravelry, Clare Divine aka Knitsforklipskaap. Clare is a bright lady with a handful of beautiful patterns under her sleeve. She lives her passion of the thread 100% and you can read her wise words and see her beautiful blog here. I was lucky to snatch a bit of her time with my little questionnaire and here is a mini trip into the knitted life of Clare. I hope you will enjoy the voyage as much as I did. Continue reading
I love blogging without expectation and I will share only passion. The other important part of blogging to me is the great feeling of snuggling into a mini space, a virtual one, where I am happy and free. I love taking pictures so dressing my pictures with words is just the cheery on the top of a gluten free cake :). So when I came across the love your blog challenge created by A playful day, I thought that it was a great idea therefore I decided to join the thread of love
When my mum came to visit, we had some great knitting time together. My mum is an amazing and fast knitter. she loves perfection and I have to say that my threshold for perfection is not as high as hers. When she stayed with us, she knitted 2.5 shawls (one pebble beach shawl from curious handmade, barndom from westknits, started rock island from Jared Flood) and a mini parachutey for my son! Here is her knitting adventure in pictures! Continue reading
A beautiful Grasshopper in fingering weight from Republic of wool, beautiful greens, beautiful texture and a delight to knit with. Another pebble beach shawl knitted, using another hand dyed yarn, this shawl has to be added to my collection of hand dyed pebble. I am traveling around the world through the making of the pebble shawl following a hand dyed trail. I went to the UK with the phoenix pebble made of Countess Ablaze goodness, I went to Australia with sweet pebble made of Skeinyarn and now I went to the USA with Republic of Wool and all this travel was through seeing and knitting the colours of a thread of yarn. I guess that was a cheap way of travelling :)
The colours remind me of the lichen on a Manuka tree from New Zealand
I organised a mini giveaway at the end of February and I was meant to tell everyone who was the lucky winner on the 6th of March, so 8 days later I am finally writing the mini story of the little giveaway. First I would like to say thank you to all of you who left lovely comments on both my instagram and my little blog . THANKS :)!!!!!
Who does not daydream ?? I certainly do. Sometime it is about work ( I know, it is weird but I really LOVE my job) sometime it is about pretty things, knitting project, impossible creations and design, I also day dream about fabric, Lego, Minecraft, vintage my little pony…. the list is long I am a real daydreamer. The thing is that when I am in this parallel world I can still function at almost 50% which is quite useful as I can still have an almost normal social life :).
Hopscotch looking at my hedgehog fibres lace weight yarn, isn’t she pretty :)?
My little blog has been nominated by blogcreatifa for the daydreamer award and I am very happy that she has shared this award with me! it is a sweet feeling ! so thanks again! You made me smile!
Lately, I have been obsessed with two things; First, I have been obsessed with bento bags. They are pretty, convenient and perfect project bags. After buying one from Fringe supply and made by Ambatalia I was thinking of making some myself which will give me great freedom in the conception of the bag. My second obsession is beautiful fabrics from Australian designers using Aborigines drawing techniques printed by M & S textile Australia. The fabrics are bright, alive and inspiring. You can buy these at Morris and Sons however I could not find them on their website so it looks like that you have to go to the shop to get these pretty fabrics.
PS: At the end of this post there is a Giveaway !
Brioche, dear brioche if Stephen West did not whispered your name through his creation I would have never meet you. I would have lived a life without knowing how you play with the colours, how clever and warm you are. So thanks Westknits.
Brioche knitting is different than normal knitting, the big differences are that you knit twice the same row and that you do a lot of yarn overs. It took me a bit of practice and false starts before I felt comfortable with brioche. The truth is that when you start understanding the technique, it gets very addictive because it is an amazing way to play with colours or showing off your favourite yarn !
Voila! Creamsicle as a jumper! it is finished and I love it ! J’adore le petit look de ce petit pull de couleurs inhabituelles !!!
The original pattern from issue 9 of Pompom Quarterly by Sarah Hurwitz was written for the making of a cardigan. There is nothing wrong with the cardigan at all. The only reason for the mini change was that I am not a small cardigan kind of girl. I went wild on the yarn choice as I used a variegated yarn from one of my favourite yarn dyer the one and only Countess Ablaze. The soul of the jumper which is for me the yarn, is called “How can anyone can live without an occasional snack” it was part of the 12 caesar collection.
